This hand drawn pen and ink rendering of a custom Modern Farmhouse designed by Bainbridge Construction is 18 x 24″ on cotton vellum. The house features lots of varying textures, painted wood siding and brick, stone work, metal awnings, composition shingle roof, stained wood beams, and of course the variety of landscaping and sky. Careful thought is given to the overall design of landscaping to enhance the drawing and let the architectural design hold center stage.
What an inviting, beautiful home. Well done Bainbridge Design Group. This will be a lovely home to see completed. This finished rendering is large at 24 x 36″ on cotton rag vellum. And here are some close ups for details.
Here are some close ups of the project. At this point the warm grey roof shingles are reading nicely. Don’t want to go too dark so the shadows will be effective. There will be a lot of warm white stucco, so here you can see some warm light grey under marks for the stucco.
And here you can see the start of the stately blue-green evergreens in background.
At the drawing board. Working on the largest Bainbridge Modern Farmhouse rendering I’ve tackled yet. Here most of the preliminary pen and ink work and have penciled in background landscaping. Also I’m just starting to render the stone work with various markers leaving gaps along the front for grasses which will be symmetrically placed along the front.
Here’s another “Modern Farmhouse” house plan designed by Bainbridge Design Group. This one incorporates painted brick.
With the addition of sky and trees in the background, this 3D rendering of Bainbridge Design Group’s Modern Farmhouse is complete.
At this point all the foreground landscaping has been completed and highlights added.
Progressing nicely. Keeping in mind where the light is coming from to render values effectively. Having fun with window reflections and stonework.
Pen and ink work has all been done. Now starting with the markers. Carefully laying in colors and various textures.
